Special Arrangements |
Tours of Washburn High School
Friday Tour.
We have arranged for one or two groups of up to 20 people to tour Washburn on Friday morning before the start of the Reunion
luncheon. People who want to go on a Friday tour must register in advance. Send an email to reunion-tour@washburn-1950.us or
call 952-473-4539 to register for the tour.
Transportation arrangements will be the responsibility of the people going on the tour and we will try to help people
car pool. The folks from 'out of the Metro Area' will have the first chance at going on Friday morning but no matter where you are
living, let us know if you would like to be on the tour list.
Other Tours
Metro area people can tour before or after the 60th Reunion. Call Marianne Melton at 612-668-3426 and tell her you are from
the Class of 1950 and would like to visit Washburn once again. She will help arrange your personal tour. Our Class Members can
arrange such a tour any time they wish -- even before the end of this school year.
2. Pictures and Images. [Things that will be included on the Official 60th Reunion CD/DVD]
60th Personal Pages
During the Reunion all of the 60th Personal Pages will be up on the walls of the room for examination by attendees. Even if you are unable
to attend you should submit a 60th Personal Page so we can know about 60 years after graduation. Our plan is to put all of the
60th Personal Pages that we receive on the Official Reunion CD/DVD. We urge you to supply us with a color picture of yourself and
some text -- as much as you wish--- so that we can add your 60th Personal Page to the collection. People who wish to do so will be
able to get the Personal Pages printed and bound into a book by Kinko's, OfficeMax, Staples or a similar place by simply presenting
the Official Reunion CD/DVD to the printing company.
50th Reunion Pages
We have scanned the pages from the 50th Reunion Book created by Gene Booker and Con Meloche and which was printed for the
50th Reunion. Not everyone purchased the book. At the reunion we will have these pages posted on the wall with your 60th
Personal Page
We have found that we can make reprints of the Book for $25 mailed to you or we can make a CD-ROM copy for $2 mailed to
you. The CD-ROM can be examined on a computer or you can have it printed at your home location.
If you would like a copy please send an email to reunion-info@washburn1950.us tell us you want a copy. We will arrange to either
send you a copy before the reunion or have your copy available for you to pick up at the reunion.
The individual pages can be seen on this web site by going to the Found Classmates and clicking on the first name of people who prepared
them for the 50th Reunion.
Classmate list.
The list of names, phone numbers, addresses and email addresses that we have developed in the process of finding
people for the Reunion will be on the Official Reunion CD/DVD. You can look at it or print it out. It will NOT be placed on the internet
because we want to avoid SPAM generators getting hold of the list. A copy of this list will be handed out at the Reunion.
New Pictures
We are working on arrangements to have two photographers at the Reunion who will take a portrait picture of every Class Member
attending and also group pictures upon request. These pictures will be taken with digital cameras which should allow us to be certain
that the picture 'turns out'.
All of these photos will be made available to Class Members -- whether they are at the Reunion or not --- for the cost of putting them
on the Official Reunion CD/ DVD and mailing. The mailing cost is estimated to be $2.00 per CD/DVD . We hope to keep the
production/copying cost below $3 per CD/DVD. We will have a better estimate of the Official Reunion CD/DVD pricing as the time
approaches September.
We encourage folks to bring their own camera to the Reunion and take as many pictures as you wish. If you have a digital camera
and allow us to make a copy of your memory card we will add your pictures to the CD/DVD.
Grade School Pictures
We are searching for 6th grade pictures from all of the Grades Schools we attended before going to Ramsey & Washburn. Those that
we can locate will be placed on the web site and also on the CD/DVD.
GRIST copies
We have requested copies of the GRIST from the years we attended Washburn. We do have a copy of the Graduation Special Edition
of the Grist which will be posted on the wall at the Reunion and will be on the Official Reunion CD/DVD. Any other issues that we are
able to find will be posted on the wall and included on the CD/DVD. If you have any Grist copies please send us an email to
reunion-info@washburn-1950.us and we will work out how to get copies.
Miscellaneous Pictures
We have asked people to send us via email or regular mail pictures that they have kept from the Washburn years. As many as possible
will be included on the Official Reunion CD/DVD.
